Chapter 19-28
a] If you were to organize the 100th Year Anniversary of the Little Prince Publication, what Little Prince-related activities would you organize and why?
I would organize a Question and Answer Activity to know if the readers really understand. I would also organize a play so that they can apply their creativity of relaying the story.
b] What adult quality does Little Prince have? What child-like quality he has? Would you recommend this book to adults or to children? Why?
On the adult side, the Little Prince was proud, hard-working and a thinker of a lot of things. On the other hand, his child-like qualities include being annoying, inquisitive, creative and wanting to explore.
c] What life story of the author Antoine de Saint Exupery is related to his novel?
The author's friendship with a boy named Leon Werth who lived in France, hungry and cold, .influenced him in writing his novel., The friendship of the Little Prince and the flower, and the way the pilot cared for the Little Prince are like tthe way the author cared for his little friend, Leon Werth.
d] What happened to the Little Prince at the end of the story?
The Little Prince died because he was bitten by a snake.
e] Why didn’t the pilot tell his companions about his true feelings when they finally found him? How is it related to our life when we conceal our true feelings with others?
The pilot told his companions that he was just tired but the truth was that he was sad to what happened to the little prince. A lot of times we don't want people to know what we really felt and experienced. We fear of being ridiculed.
f] What important message or truth about life can you get from the following lines?
1] “It is only in the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible”.
Things that are invisible are more beautiful and last forever. While visible things will just fade and disappear. Invisible things can be felt by the heart and that’s its beauty.
2] “I am responsible for what I am tamed.”
" What I learn I must be responsible to apply them in life".
3] “Words are the source of misunderstanding.”
Words can be the source of misunderstanding, too, because if we are careless with our words, we can hurt others. Words can console. Words can be effective if meant by the heart.
4] “What makes the desert beautiful is that somewhere it hides it well.”
We see deserts as nothing, we hear nothing but the silence that throbs and gleam. There is always something bad in the best of anyone. Jjust as there is always something good in the worst of anyone .
5] “Although I was rich with one flower that was unique in all the world; and all I have is a common rose”
I have the best friend of a friend, although he is just a simple person.
6] “If you love a flower that lives in a star, it is sweet to look at the sky at night.”
If we love someone, although he is in a distant place, you would always want to go to that place. Just like a father or mother or a child, who loves his/her family, he/she would always want to go home and be with his/her loved-ones.

Chapter 10-18
a. Who uttered the line, “One must require from each one, the duty, which each one can perform”? What is the real life significance of this line?
The king uttered the line. We need each other’s help and cooperation to make our work easier and faster.
b. What is the meaning of “It is much more difficult to judge oneself than to judge others”?
It is easier to judge others than one's self because we became blind to to our inconsistencies. When we do wrong we deny them. But when others do wrong we are quick to see them wrong.
c. What is meant by “Conceited people never hear anything but praises”? Does this kind of people actually suffer from this hearing problem?
A conceited man is a person who is proud of himself. Actually, he is figuratively deaf to the real score of his being.
d. What is the irony of the line, “I am drinking so that I may forget”? Could you relate similar line that you hear from people
I often hear this line from people who are emotionally broke. These types of people are cowards to squarely solve their problems. The irony is that drinking is never the concrete solution.
e. Why does the businessman want to become rich? How is the character is related to real life people?
The businessman wants to become rich to buy more stars. People wants to accumulate material wealth in order to be powerful. Like the rich countries, they want to conquer the world.
f. What is meant by, “There is nothing to understand. Orders are orders.” What is its real life significance?
The lamplighter does the same routine everyday, he does not want to break this routine. There are workers who do not enhance their skills. They limit their self development.
They do not want to get out of their comfort zone.
g. How did tthe little prince perceive the character of the lamplighter? Do you agree with him? Why?
The prince thinks that the lamplighter is ridiculous. I agree with him. The lamplighter is ttoo lazy to do other things except what he has been doing.
h. What truth about adults does the geographer represents? How does he represent this truth about adults?
The geographer represents people who are bookish. Their life's experience is limited to their environment. They don't explore about the wide, wide world.
i. How did the pilot describe the planet earth? How would you describe it?
The pilot described the planet earth as not just an ordinary planet. It is a place to live in. It is a place of happiness, sorrow, sadness and many more.
j. The snake describes himself to be more powerful than the finger of a king. He also said that he speaks in riddles because he solves all of them. What made him say these statements?
The snake is powerful being poisonous. He says he is smart because he speaks in riddles. He wants everybody to know about his greatness.
k. What truth about life is reflected on Chapter 18?
Since childhood up to being grown-up, we have met plenty of friends. We lost count of them. But then we realized that later at the end, there are a few of them that linger as true friends.

Chapter 1-9
a. How did the people’s reaction toward the boa constrictor drawing affect the pilot’s life? What does it tell you about how adults should treat children?
The pilot was discouraged that the grown-ups were limited as far as their naked eyes could see about his drawings. He gave up his career in painting. Adults should not discourage children to their inclinations. Instead they should encourage and give support to the children in their talents.
b. How did the pilot finally draw the exact sheep wanted by the Little Prince? What does this tell you?
After drawings and dawings rejected by the prince, when his patience was exhausted the pilot drew a box and explained that the sheep was inside. This explanation overwhelmed the prince. This explains how creative the little prince thinks. People can be extensive in their interpretations.
c. Why nobody believed the Turkish Astronomer when he talked about Asteroid B 612 for the first time? What does it tell you about grown-ups?
The astronomer was wearing Turkish costume that nobody would believe him. The next time he presented his discovery, he was wearing European costume that everybody accepted his discovery. European custumes are elegant and impressive. In real life, people tend to judge others through physical being.
d. When do adults say that a house is beautiful? What does this tell you?
People would evaluate a house as beautiful thru figures like how much did the house cost. People tend to equate beauty with price tags.
e. What are baobabs? What aspect of life does this reflect?
Baobabs are trees that start small and then grows into big trees that you can’t get rid of. This reflects the kind of company we should associate with. If we associate with people having vices, the tendency will be that we will learn their vices. Like a dozen of apples placed in a basket with one apple rotten. You will see that in a span of time all the other apples will get rotten.
f. How did the Little Prince react when the pilot replied, “matters of great consequence”? Why did the Little Prince react that way?
The little prince reacted mad and told the pilot that he (the pilot) is talking like a grownup. That the pilot lived in a planet where there is a certain red-faced gentleman that has never smelled a flower, looked at a star, never loved anyone ,and has never done anything in his life but add up figures. So when the pilot said “matters of great consequence”, the little prince repeated the words of the pilot, "I am busy with matters of great consequence!" It made the little prince swell up his pride The little prince was really mad the pilot no longer wanted to give attention to his "annoying" questions.
g. What is meant by “It is such a secret place, the land of tears”?
It shows how caring you are despite being hurt.
h. What aspect of life is reflected by the “volcanoes?”
"Volcanoes" reflect the hatred and the disgust we have in our fellow or in our experiences in life. If we do not know how to forgive the misgivings on us by our fellow, chances are our hatred will get into fire. Also, if we do not know how to learn to forget with bad experiences, the chance will be that we will be depressed in life.
i. Who uttered the line, “I must endure the presence of two or three caterpillars if I wish to be acquainted with the butterflies”? What significant message is implied?
The flower uttered the lines. This means that for a person to learn the beauty of life, he must be able to experience its "ups and downs".
j. “She coughed two or three times in order to put the Little Prince in the wrong.” What is the context behind this line? What characteristic is shown on the statement? How is this seen in real life?
The flower made the little prince doubt her. In real life, friends may be put to test thei in thei sincerity.
k. How will you describe the relationship of the Little Prince and the flower?
They are best of friends. When one needs help, a friend is there to help. Like the little prince and flower. When the flower needs watering the prince is there. When the prince needs help the flower is there.
